Kisovi

Privacy Policy

Last updated 17 September 2026

Kisovi splits trip expenses between friends. It needs to know who is on a trip and what they spent, and it does not need to know anything else. This page says exactly what is stored, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it.

The short version. We store your email, the name you choose, any payment handles you add, and the trips and expenses you log. Receipt photos are sent to Anthropic to be read; Kisovi never stores them, and Anthropic does not train on them. We do not sell anything, we run no advertising, and there are no third-party trackers in the app. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.

What we collect

WhatWhyRequired?
Email address To sign you in and to send confirmation and password-reset messages. Yes
Display name So the other people on your trip know which expenses are yours. Yes
Venmo, Cash App, PayPal or Zelle details So someone who owes you can open their payment app with your details already filled in. The Zelle field may hold a phone number if that is what you use. No — every one is optional
Trips, expenses, shares and payments Trip names, invite codes, expense descriptions, amounts, dates, who paid, who it was split between, and payments recorded between members. This is the app. Yes
Names of people who do not use Kisovi You can add someone to a trip by name so their share is counted. That name is stored. See People you add by name. No
Whether you allowed receipt scanning, and when So we only ever send a photo after you have said yes, and so you can change your mind. Yes, once you answer
A count of receipt scans per day A daily cap keeps costs predictable. It is a number, not a record of what you scanned. Yes

That is the whole list. Kisovi does not ask for your location, your contacts, your calendar, or your health data, and it does not read anything else on your phone.

Receipt scanning and Anthropic

Receipt photos are sent to Anthropic (Claude AI) to read the merchant, total, and date. Kisovi never stores them.

This is optional and off until you turn it on. The first time you tap Scan receipt, Kisovi explains this and asks. Nothing is sent, and the camera does not even open, until you tap Allow. You can turn it off again at any time under Your account → Receipt scanning.

When you do use it:

The amount that comes back is only ever filled into the form for you to check. Kisovi never saves an expense on its own.

Where your data is stored

Kisovi's database and sign-in are run by Supabase, which hosts on Amazon Web Services. Your data sits in one Postgres database with row-level security, which means the database itself refuses to hand your trips to anyone who is not on them — not just the app.

WhoWhat they get
Supabase Hosts the database and handles sign-in. All of the data listed above.
Anthropic Receipt photos, only if you turned scanning on, and only at the moment you scan one. Deleted from their systems within 30 days, and never used for training.
Resend Your email address, to deliver confirmation and password-reset messages.
Apple If you use Sign in with Apple. Choosing Hide My Email means we never see your real address at all.
Sentry Crash reports, if the app crashes: the error and where in the code it happened. Configured to send no personal data — no names, no amounts, no email addresses.

There is no analytics service, no advertising network and no tracker in Kisovi. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone not listed above.

Who else can see your trips

The other people on a trip can see that trip: its name, its expenses, who paid, how it was split, and the payments recorded on it. That is what a shared expense app is. They can also see any payment handles you have added, because that is how they pay you back.

People who are not on the trip see nothing. Anyone holding the 6-character invite code can join the trip, so treat it like a door key.

People you add by name

Kisovi lets you add someone to a trip by name so their share is counted even though they do not use the app. Only their name is stored — no email, no phone number, no way to contact them. If they later join with the invite code they can claim that name and take over their own record. Please only add people who would expect to be on the trip.

Deleting your account

In the app: Your account → Delete your account. It asks twice and then it is done, immediately and permanently. There is no waiting period and no email to send.

What is deleted: your login, your email address, your display name and every payment handle you added.

What stays, and why: the expenses on your trips. If your expenses vanished, everyone else's balance would silently change, and a trip where the numbers no longer add up is worse for them than one with a name on it. So your name remains on the trip as somebody who has not joined — exactly as it looks before anyone signs up — and the amounts stay correct. Nothing that identifies you beyond that name is kept.

You can also leave a single trip without deleting your account: People → Leave trip. The same rule applies — your name stays, the balances do not move.

Children

Kisovi is not directed at children and is rated 4+ because it contains nothing objectionable, not because it is designed for children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Your rights

You can see everything Kisovi holds about you inside the app, and export any trip as a CSV from the Settle tab. You can correct your name and handles at any time, and delete everything as described above. If you are in the UK, EU or California and want a copy of your data or have a question about any of this, email us and we will answer.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who receives it, the app will say so before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
