Kisovi

Support

Something not working, or a number that looks wrong? Email support@kisovi.app and a real person will answer. If it is about an amount, say which trip and which expense and it will be quicker.

Getting started

Starting a trip

Tap New trip, give it a name, and you are on it. Every trip gets a 6-character invite code. Share it from People → Invite and anyone with the code can join.

Adding someone who does not have the app

People → Add someone without the app, and enter their name. Their share is counted like anyone else's. If they install Kisovi later, they can join with the invite code and claim that name, along with everything already logged against it.

Adding an expense

Tap Add expense, enter what it was and how much, choose who paid, and tick who it was split between. Kisovi splits equally and puts any leftover cents on the first names in the list, so the shares always add up to the total exactly.

Settling up

Why does it say I pay one person when I owe two?

Kisovi nets everything before it suggests anything. If you owe Ani $40 and Ani owes you $25, you will be told to pay $15 once rather than to send two payments that cancel each other. The Settle tab always shows the fewest payments that clear the whole trip.

Does Kisovi move money?

No. Kisovi cannot send money and never sees it. Open Venmo and the other payment buttons open that app with the amount filled in — you review and send it there, and it is their app that moves it. Mark as paid only records that it happened.

A payment I recorded has not changed the balances

A payment counts once the person receiving it confirms it arrived. Until then it sits under Waiting to be confirmed. If they were added by name and do not have the app, anyone on the trip can confirm on their behalf.

Receipt scanning

What happens to the photo?

Receipt photos are sent to Anthropic (Claude AI) to read the merchant, total, and date. Kisovi never stores them, and the copies on your phone are deleted straight away. Anthropic does not train on them and its published policy is to delete them within 30 days. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

It asked permission and I said no

Nothing was sent. Tap Scan receipt again to change your mind, or turn it on under Your account → Receipt scanning.

The amount has an orange outline and says "Check the amount"

That means the reading was not certain — a handwritten total, a fold across the number, or an amount large enough that a misplaced decimal point is worth ruling out. The amount is yours to correct before you save. Kisovi never saves an expense on its own.

It says I have used my scans for today

There is a limit of 30 scans a day per person. It resets at midnight UTC. Enter the expense by hand in the meantime — everything else works exactly the same.

Accounts

I did not get the confirmation email

Check the spam folder first. The message comes from no-reply@kisovi.app. If it is genuinely missing, tap Send the confirmation again on the sign-in screen. Links expire after an hour, so if the email has been sitting there a while, ask for a fresh one.

I forgot my password

Tap I forgot my password on the sign-in screen. Open the emailed link on the same phone and it will bring you back into the app to set a new one. If you signed in with Apple you do not have a password — use the Apple button instead.

Leaving a trip

People → Leave trip. Your name stays on the trip as somebody who has not joined, so every expense and share is untouched and nobody's balance moves. You can rejoin with the invite code and take your name back. If you are the last person on the trip with the app, Kisovi will ask you to delete the trip instead, because otherwise nobody could ever open it again.

Deleting a trip

Only the person who started it, from People → Delete trip. It erases the trip and every expense, share and payment on it, for everyone. You have to type the trip's name to confirm, and it cannot be undone.

Deleting your account

Your account → Delete your account. Immediate and permanent. Your expenses stay on your trips so that nobody else's balance changes, with your name on them as someone who has not joined. See the privacy policy for exactly what is removed.

Still stuck

Email support@kisovi.app. It helps to include your iPhone model, the iOS version, and what you tapped just before it went wrong. If a balance looks wrong, the Export CSV button on the Settle tab produces a file that shows every expense and share — attaching it usually turns a long conversation into a short one.
